It doesn’t take long to fall in love with Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story. The Hallmark Channel Countdown to Christmas 2025 marquee movie featuring Holland Roden and Matthew Daddario will delight Bills Mafia and newcomers to the Buffalo Bills fandom alike. I had a chance to watch the movie ahead of its November 22 premiere and it’s a huge win all around.
Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story follows in the footsteps of 2024’s Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. Both movies feature love stories set amid storied NFL teams and their devoted fan bases. In A Bills Love Story, we meet devoted Bills fans Morgan (Roden) and Gabe (Daddario). The lifelong friends grew up near the storied home of the Bills, Highmark Stadium, and their families enjoy a close relationship as next-door neighbors and members of the Bills Mafia. When Morgan sets out to solve a Christmas mystery 60 years in the making, Gabe does his best to help. Though they’ve known each other for ages, the more time they spend together, the closer they become.
Roden sinks her teeth into her role and she’s so convincing that it’s hard to imagine she isn’t a diehard Bills fan. There’s a very relatable moment at the start of the movie when Morgan is on a date at a Bills hotspot on gameday. Her date quickly realizes that she’s paying more attention to the game than to him, and I had to laugh because I’ve done that very thing more than once.
Daddario’s Gabe is warm and charming. He cares about Morgan and wants the best for her. Despite growing up with her and spending so much time with her and her family over the years, he hasn’t been able to take the leap into revealing how much he cares about her.
A Bills Love Story is loaded with the Hallmark Christmas movie essentials – holiday spirit, humor and heart – with lots of team spirit sprinkled in. It’s easy to imagine the movie becoming one of the most popular Countdown to Christmas movies of the 2025 season, and it’s sure to land atop some fans’ all-time lists, too.
Keep an eye out for fun cameos throughout the movie from members of the Buffalo Bills and the Hallmark Channel family. These little Easter Eggs enhance the story and make for a fun game as you try to spot them all. (And yes, we consider peanut sticks a Buffalo Easter Egg!)
Hallmark Channel really scored a touchdown when it partnered with the NFL. Given the Bills’ ever-growing popularity, there’s no question that Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story is destined to be a must-watch for the Bills Mafia for years to come.
