53rd Annual Saturn Awards Logo
The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films announced nominations for the 2026 Saturn Awards. Now in its 53rd year, the Saturn Awards recognize the best achievement in science fiction, fantasy, horror, superhero, action-adventure, animation, and genre storytelling across film and television.
The 53rd annual Saturn Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Universal Hilton in Los Angeles with host Joel McHale.
Award season is in full swing, and the Saturn Awards are an opportunity to recognize achievement in genres that don’t often receive attention from other awards. Here are some of this year’s highlights from the official press release: “Leading the film nominations are Avatar: Fire and Ash, The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Sinners, each earning 12 nominations, followed closely by Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein with 11 nominations, and Wicked: For Good with nine nominations. James Gunn’s Superman secured eight nominations, underscoring the continued resurgence of large-scale genre filmmaking. In television, Dexter: Resurrection leads all series with 6 nominations, followed by Andor, It: Welcome to Derry and Stranger Things, each earning 5 nominations. Additional strong contenders include Paradise, Pluribus and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Genre television continued its dominance across platforms, with nominations recognizing standout performances by Diego Luna, Michael C. Hall, Adam Scott, Jenna Ortega, Millie Bobby Brown, Sterling K. Brown, and Rhea Seehorn, among many others.”
