Annual Halloween and horror convention Midsummer Scream is returning to the Long Beach Convention Center August 7-9 for three days of thrills, chills and terror.
We now know that the theme for the 2026 event will be “Horror Musicals” and that means fans can expect to see celebrations of such horror classics as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Phantom of the Opera and even Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” music video. Lionsgate will be on hand to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Repo: The Genetic Opera.
This year’s stunning poster for the event was designed by Stephen Andrade.
“The year’s theme is for all of the theatre kids that are a huge part of the haunt and horror community,” said David Markland, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Midsummer Scream. “We will be honoring horror musicals of all kinds with a variety of panels, presentations, and performances all weekend. But if musicals aren’t your thing, we won’t have any less for horror fans looking to satisfy their thirst for slashers, scares, and gore.”
