Old friends reunite at Christmas in A Holiday in Harlem, part of the 2021 Countdown to Christmas event on Hallmark Channel. The all new original movie premieres Sunday, November 14, at 8pm ET/PT and stars Olivia Washington, Will Adams and Tina Lifford.
There’s nothing like seeing a loved one in person during the holidays – now more than ever – so when Jazmin (Washington) learns that her grandmother Mama Belle (Lifford) only wants a visit this year, she heads home to Harlem. During her visit Mama Belle suffers an injury that makes it impossible for her to plan the community’s Christmas Jamboree, so Jazmin, a corporate fixer, offers to stay in town to help.
Jazmin is reunited with her childhood best friend Caleb (Adams), who serves as co-chair of the Christmas Jamboree, and together they have to bring the event to life. The journey opens Jazmin’s eyes to her community, but will it open her heart as well?
Olivia Washington has been in several high profile movies and television shows including Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Empire, Madoff and Mr. Robot, and soon she’ll appear in Joel Coen’s production of The Tragedy of Macbeth.
Will Adams (Caleb) is a thespian at heart. The Brown University grad has appeared in several productions including Skeleton Crew, Death of a Salesman, Curse of the Starving Class and Blue Ridge. He has also appeared in a guest role on Tyler Perry’s The Oval.
Tina Lifford (Mama Belle) has enjoyed a vibrant career spanning three decades and a variety of productions that show off her talent. She’s currently appearing in OWN’s Queen Sugar as Violet Bordelon. She’s had roles in several TV shows including Scandal, Parenthood, ER and Single Ladies, and some of her film credits include Colors, Catch and Release and Hostage.
A Holiday in Harlem was directed by Keith Powell, and Monique Matthews wrote the script.
As part of the 2021 Countdown to Christmas celebration, A Holiday in Harlem will play throughout the season. It will also be available on Hallmark on Demand the day after it premieres on Hallmark Channel.
