After what seems like a very long dry spell, AMC fans are about to be fed when AMC Networks hosts its annual presentation at the Television Critics Association 2024 winter meeting on February 6. This will be a chance for the network to promote what’s coming up in their schedule, both in the short term and the long term, and we fully expect to learn more about Interview with the Vampire season 2, Mayfair Witches season 2 and The Walking Dead Universe.
Interview with the Vampire season 2 resumed production in the fall after initial filming was halted during the Screen Actors Guild and Writers Guild strikes. The show is currently in post-production and fans are eagerly awaiting a full trailer and premiere date. (The weekend after The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live finale, April 7, is free. Just sayin’.)
Mayfair Witches season 2 is currently in development. The scripts are being developed, locations are being scouted and fans have been sharing casting announcements spotted on actors’ job boards. While it might be too early for first look photos, it’s very possible that AMC will give fans a target date for filming, or perhaps even a goal of when the show is expected to return. (My guess is early 2025)
The next new show in The Walking Dead Universe, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, premieres Sunday, February 25, at 9 pm ET/PT on AMC. This is the new limited series referred to as the Richonne spinoff by fans and features Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira continuing the story of the legendary Rick and Michonne.
We fully expect that there will be updates about the new seasons of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol and The Walking Dead: Dead City, but it’s very possible that there could be hints about other projects in the work, too. (I don’t know if there are other projects coming up, but this would be a good time to announce them)
After the TCA presentation, the next opportunity to learn more about these shows will be during WonderCon 2024 in Anaheim, California. The smaller sibling to San Diego Comic-Con takes place March 29-31 and AMC has a long history of doing presentations there. Given the schedule disruptions after the strikes, it’s a very good bet that any shows airing between February and July will be promoted at WonderCon. Tickets and hotel information can be found here.
So stay tuned, friends. Dinner is about to be served….
