When Interview with the Vampire season 2 premieres May 12, fans will see more than a few new faces joining the IWTV family. We’re particularly excited to meet Bally Gill, the actor who will bring the real Rashid to life in a recurring guest role.
Bally Gill was born in Coventry, United Kingdom, in July 1992. That means he’s a Leo for anyone interested in his astrological sign. (His birthday, per IMDB, is July 28 for those looking for all the details)
Gill is as active in film and TV as he is in theater. On the theater side, he’s performed in Royal Shakespeare Company’s productions of Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. He appeared in multiple episodes of Slow Horses, Sherwood and This Is Going to Hurt, and on the film side he appeared in several movies including Footprints on Water, Free Fall and Allelujah.
In 2022, Gill was nominated for the Best Actor award at both the British Urban Film Festival and the Oregon Short Film Festival for his role as Raj in Bus Driver.
We have to admit, of all the characters announced in Interview with the Vampire season 2, Gill’s character might have fans intrigued the most. After all, Assad Zaman spent most of season 1 answering to the name “Rashid” until it was revealed in the finale that he was, in fact, the Vampire Armand.
It could have been as simple as a name that Armand took a liking to (as Armand is known to do), but the IWTV team is far too clever to let something like that happen. Instead, we’re going to meet the “real Rashid” in season 2. Something tells us, though, that Real Rashid’s fate may not be so bright if Armand took over his identity…
Interview with the Vampire season 2 premieres Sunday, May 12, on AMC and AMC+. The series stars Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Delainey Hayles, Eric Bogosian, Assad Zaman and Ben Daniels. Roxane Duran will also have a recurring guest role, and David Costabile will join the cast as a guest star. The series is executive produced by Mark Johnson, showrunner Rolin Jones, Mark Taylor, Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice.
