“Ava,” she says, leaning back against the luxury car. “My name is Ava.” With that, Passionflix fans were formally introduced to Kristy Dawn Dinsmore as Ava O’Shea, the heroine of Jodi Ellen Malpas’ This Man series.
Dinsmore’s casting was announced by Deadline last week, but fans hoped for a more grandiose Passionflix-style introduction similar to the one that Tyler Cook enjoyed when he was revealed in the role of the Lord of the Manor, Jesse Ward.
The teaser features Dinsmore in a sleek black dress standing next to a fancy luxury car. “She’s the one he’s been waiting for,” the caption says.

With Passionflix CEO and This Man director Tosca Musk and her team gathered in the UK to begin filming, the timing was right to film a teaser. Not only were fans given a teaser introducing Miss O’Shea, but there’s also a sneak peek of how the teaser came together in the Passionflix Instagram stories.
Dinsmore, known for playing Amma on the History Channel’s hit series Vikings, has earned rave reviews from This Man fans who are eager to see her on screen with Cook’s Jesse Ward. Playing Ava won’t be easy, but under Musk’s watchful eye there’s no doubt that Dinsmore will do a fantastic job.
Passionflix will bring all three books in the This Man trilogy to life, and that means the cast will be spending a great deal of time together as their book counterparts are put through their paces. Judging from their behind the scenes antics, the cast is ready to take on this huge project and by all accounts they’re having fun doing it.
Dinsmore’s Instagram stories are full of their on-set hijinx, including a bus ride through the English countryside with the cast and being shuttled to set by Malpas while attempting to prevent her hair’s blow-out from being blown out by the ride in the convertible.
Welcome to the Passionflix family, Kristy Dawn Dinsmore! We can’t wait to learn more about you as you bring Ava to life! Filming is presently underway on This Man, and fans can look forward to meeting Ava and Jesse in December.
Just a shame it’s no longer going ahead with Dinsmore no longer playing Ava, apparently.
