Beauty From Surrender Review: Passionflix Turns Up the Heat in Georgia Cates Sequel

Passionflix fans went wild when Beauty From Pain premiered on the romance streaming platform last year. Beauty From Surrender, the second book in Georgia Cates’ trilogy, turns up the heat with a big reunion, lots of drama and even more toe-curling moments (read: sex) between Laurelyn (Samantha Allsop) and Jack Henry (Jackson Gallagher). Beauty From Pain was a Passionflix triumph. Beauty From Surrender is a Passionflix masterpiece. Here’s my spoiler-free review.

The story picks up shortly after the events of Beauty From Pain. Laurelyn returns home from Australia after spending three months with Jack Henry. She fell hard for him but when she told him she loved him, it looked like she pushed him away. Little did she know, Jack Henry fell for her, hard, and he wants her back. By the time he figures out where she is, Laurelyn’s life has changed dramatically. She’s touring with a popular band and she has gained legions of fans. Will she have room in her life for the man who shattered her heart into a million pieces?

Needless to say, things end up working out for Laurelyn and Jack Henry and that’s the basis of Beauty From Surrender. They spent much of the first movie falling in love, paving the way for their love to grow in the second film. And grow it does. Jack Henry is all-in on Laurelyn, and she feels the same way. But, as it is with all love stories, there are some bumps in the road that could ruin everything.

Laurelyn and Jack Henry’s chemistry is explosive in the sequel, which is a testament to Allsop and Gallagher’s performances. This time the table has turned, as Laurelyn’s career has taken off while Jack Henry’s world has unraveled since she left. The shift gives Allsop and Gallagher a chance to flex their acting ability as their characters evolve, adapt and reconnect.

Allsop masterfully brings Laurelyn’s vulnerability to the forefront while also infusing her with strength and resilience as she finds her voice, both professionally and personally.

Gallagher takes a similar approach with Jack Henry, who was sensual but steely in the first movie. Now that his whole world has been turned upside down, he, too, has to be vulnerable. But his vulnerability comes with realizing the mistakes of his past and his past behavior and finding a way to move forward. Gallagher makes sure Jack Henry’s gaze is fixed on Laurelyn every time she’s near, making it crystal clear that he’s a new man and she’s the center of his world.

Beauty From Surrender is easily one of the sexiest movies Passionflix has ever released. Fans will love seeing Laurelyn and Jack Henry’s reunion and all of their efforts to make up for lost time…. If they’re not one of your favorite Passionflix couples already, they will be soon enough. They’re up there with Julia and Gabriel, Rylee and Colton and Beth and Wrath.

Brian Frederich’s script is a beautiful adaptation of Cates’ book. Once again Christine Luby keeps the story moving without sacrificing the key moments from the book that fans want to see onscreen.

If you enjoyed Beauty From Pain, you’re going to love Beauty From Surrender. It’s everything you want to see in a Passionflix movie, and then some.
