It seems like it was only yesterday that the world was introduced to AMC’s Interview with the Vampire. With Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac and Sam Reid as Lestat de Lioncourt, the show debuted to great fanfare and has been a massive hit ever since. Now that The Vampire Lestat has bowed and Queen of the Damned is on the way, we’re feeling a bit nostalgic. IWTV season 1 episode 1 is titled “In Throes of Increasing Wonder….” Here’s the episode description: “In 2020, Louis de Pointe du Lac tells his story to journalist Daniel Molloy. In 1910, Louis lives in New Orleans as executor-in-charge of his family’s fortune, but when he meets the vampire Lestat, Louis’ life begins to unravel in otherworldly ways.”
The first thing you’ll notice here is that everyone is wearing masks. It’s hard to believe the show was filming during Covid; these photos offer a look at all of the extra precautions that were in place to ensure a safe filming environment.
