Passionflix announces The Secret Life of Amy Bensen cast

We now know the names of the actors who will bring Amy Benson and Liam Stone to life in the Passionflix adaptation of bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones’ Escaping Reality: The Secret Life of Amy Benson. The romance streaming service also announced that filming will begin on September 6. 

Maddie McCormick will bring Amy Benson to life and Casey King will play the enigmatic and reclusive billionaire Liam Stone. 

McCormick is known for her roles in Little Fires Everywhere, Versus and Shameless. Hallmark Channel fans will also recognize McCormick from her role as Jane Lucas in the Jane Austen-inspired holiday movie Christmas at Pemberley Manor. An Illinois native, McCormick also has experience behind the camera. She directed a 2016 episode of Sh*t Girls Used to Say. 

King has appeared in a number of projects; he recently had a guest role in an episode of Star Trek: Picard in addition to other projects that include NCIS: Los Angeles, Zach & Dennis: How it All Began and Before I Got Famous. His love for acting extends beyond film and television; he received training in theater at Playhouse West and Beverly Hills Playhouse. As a Pittsburgh native, King cheers for the Steelers and Penguins. Fun fact: he attended St. Olaf on a football scholarship. 

Escaping Reality: The Secret Life of Amy Bensen is the story of Amy Benson, a woman who has spent several years on the run from an unknown danger after losing her entire family in an accident. When she finds herself sitting next to a mysterious man during a flight, she has no idea that her life is about to change. Liam Stone is used to his solitary life, but every instinct tells him that Amy needs help and he plans to help her, whether she likes it or not. 

The Secret Life of Amy Bensen will follow in the footsteps of K. Bromberg’s Driven, becoming a series instead of a movie, or a series of movies as is the case with Sylvain Reynard’s Gabriel Series. 

There is no release date available yet, but based on previous Passionflix projects it’s very likely that fans will see the first episodes of the series before the end of the year.
