The new Passionflix series The Secret Life of Amy Bensen revolves around a woman whose life vacillates between terror and uncertainty as she flees from an unknown threat. In real life, actor Maddie McCormick is as bright and warm as you can imagine. I had a chance to speak with McCormick on the My Nights Are Booked Podcast.

As soon as McCormick was announced for the role of Amy, she became part of the Passionflix family and we’ve been able to watch her journey thanks to the pictures and videos she’s shared on social media.
Our conversation covered the first three episodes of the series, so if you haven’t caught up yet you should watch before you listen. And if you’re caught up, you’ll get plenty of fascinating insight into how McCormick brought Amy to life.
You’ll hear how she went through the audition process. I was intrigued to learn that she had several conversations about Amy and Amy’s story before she accepted the role. She spoke with Tosca Musk and Escaping Reality author Lisa Renee Jones, and those conversations helped her to better interpret her vision for Amy as the character made the leap from page to screen.
At the end of the podcast I asked McCormick the famous 10 questions from Inside the Actor’s Studio, and she had some of the most creative responses I’ve heard so far.
As always, thank you for listening and supporting the podcast! Please be sure to leave a review, and if you have any questions or comments feel free to reach out to me on Twitter or Instagram.
