Tangled is turning one! The Passionflix romantic comedy based on the bestselling novel is celebrating its first anniversary and author Emma Chase stopped by the My Nights Are Booked Podcast to talk about the movie. She also provided an update about the Royally Screwed movie as well as her next project.
It’s hard to believe that Tangled has been out for a whole year, but time flies when you’re having fun. Josh Plasse plays Drew, a career bachelor who is on the top of the world until he meets his match in Kate (Katherine Hughes), who knocks him off his pedestal.
In the interview Chase notes the challenges of translating the book into a movie. She praises Hughes, Plasse and director Traci Hays for their work because they manage to flawlessly capture the heart of the book along with a healthy helping of humor and heat.
Passionflix fans who attended PassionCon 2022 might recall the moment when Redd Carter sang “I Don’t Stand A Chance,” the original song that Chase wrote for the movie and was performed by Hughes in the memorable karaoke scene. It was a very special moment for me to be able to see Chase enjoying the song in a crowd full of fans who were celebrating the moment with her. It’s just another testament to the power of the Passionflix community.
If you haven’t watched Tangled in a while, it’s definitely worth a re-watch or two. Or three.
