After Driven, Passionflix to Expand Netflix Partnership

Now that new fans are “racing” the Passionflix original series Driven on Netflix, the romance streamer is poised to expand the partnership. In their weekly email, Passionflix announced that The Matchmaker’s Playbook is coming soon to Netflix, and more original content is on the way.

Driven landed on Netflix in early September, marking the first Passionflix original to appear on the streaming giant’s site. Based on K. Bromberg’s series of the same name, the series features Olivia Applegate as Rylee Thomas and Michael Roark (who replaced Casey Deidrick) as cocky race car driver Colton Donavan.

Next up on the roster is the 2018 romantic comedy The Matchmaker’s Playbook, based on the book by Rachel Van Dyken. The movie features Caitlin Carver, Justene Alpert, Tyler Johnson and Nick Bateman and it was directed by Passionflix CEO and founder Tosca Musk.

Here’s the movie’s synopsis:

“After a career-ending accident, former NFL recruit Ian Hunter is back on campus–and he’s ready to get his new game on. As one of the masterminds behind Wingmen, Inc., a successful and secretive word-of-mouth dating service, he’s putting his extensive skills with women to work for the lovelorn. But when Blake Olson requests the services of Wingmen, Inc., Ian may have landed his most hopeless client yet. From her frumpy athletic gear to her unfortunate choice of footwear, Blake is going to need a miracle if she wants to land her crush. At least with a professional matchmaker by her side she has a fighting chance. Ian knows that his advice and a makeover can turn Blake into another successful match. But as Blake begins the transformation from hot mess to smokin’ hot, Ian realizes he’s in danger of breaking his cardinal rule….”

And as if this news isn’t big enough, you’ll note in the image that there are more Passionflix originals headed for Netflix in the future. We’re not sure if the blurred image is supposed to yield clues about what’s coming up – trust us when we say we investigated all of the possibilities and couldn’t figure it out. So, for now, it’s a surprise. But every romance fan knows there’s nothing like delayed gratification to build excitement….
