These days, licensing is the name of the game. CEO Tosca Musk and the Passionflix team just took a giant leap into a major licensing deal with the announcement that all three seasons of K. Bromberg’s Driven are heading to Netflix on September 2, as reported by What’s on Netflix. Cutting a deal with Netflix is great news for Passionflix; it’s more than a new revenue stream, it’s a way to get lots of new eyeballs on a beloved series, which paves the way for new fans.

Netflix has been in the business of licensing new shows and movies for year. The idea is fairly simple: they pay for the rights to already completed properties, which then air on their streaming platform. It’s a way for Netflix to bring in new content without the need to create it themselves. This is especially true of older shows and movies, and it’s a win-win because the move to Netflix often breathes new life into these properties.
You’ll see that older TV shows and movies regularly dominate the Netflix Top 10. Not only are longtime fans re-watching shows and movies they like, but new audiences are discovering them for the first time. In many cases, fans who couldn’t watch these shows and movies before are tuning in, perhaps because they didn’t have cable TV or a subscription to a different streaming service. The result is known as the “Netflix Bump,” where a show surges in popularity on Netflix. One of the best examples of this is Suits, which originally aired on the USA Network from 2011-2019. Suits shattered viewership records when it landed on Netflix in 2023. The surge garnered so much attention that executives ordered a spinoff, Suits LA, in 2025.
Driven’s arrival on Netflix will give the series a whole new audience, one that has been devouring romance series on the platform. This is great exposure for Passionflix.
Driven is K. Bromberg’s bestselling series featuring Rylee Thomas (Olivia Applegate) and Colton Donavan (Casey Diedrick in season 1, Michael Roark in seasons 2 and 3). Rylee works at a nonprofit for kids and Colton is a famous race car driver with a reputation. When their paths cross at a charity gala, their attraction is intense. Despite their connection, Rylee isn’t ready to let anyone in. She’s been hurt before, and she’s not ready to take that leap. Donavan is tenacious and wants to show her that he’s different. He’s had a rough past, too. Once they let their guard down, they both start to heal and find love again.
As a longtime Passionista, it’s exciting to think about how many new fans will fall in love with Rylee and Donavan after watching Driven on Netflix. It’s safe to imagine that other Passionflix titles will make the jump to the streaming giant when the partnership proves to be successful. It’s also a surefire bet that fans will flock to Passionflix to watch some of the newer projects, like Black Dagger Brotherhood season 2, Beauty from Pain and Come Away With Me. It’s a win-win for everyone involved, and we can’t wait to see what happens next!
