The American Horror Story franchise is celebrating a milestone. After 12 thrilling seasons, it’s time to ring in lucky season 13. American Horror Story: 13 features an all-star lineup of former cast members celebrating all 12 seasons of the show. Each of the 13 episodes will pay homage to the past while brewing a chilling new story that’s sure to delight longtime fans as well as newcomers to the franchise.
Creator Ryan Murphy set the record straight about the milestone season while promoting his new show, The Shards. “Everybody thinks it’s a Coven season and it’s not. It’s all the seasons,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “Sarah Paulson is playing six or seven roles. Jessica Lange is playing all four of her iconic characters. Evan Peters is playing five characters… It is like the Avengers. They all come together to defeat the ultimate evil.”
The 12 seasons leading up to AHS: 13 are Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse, 1984, Double Feature, NYC and Delicate.

American Horror Story: 13 premiere date
AHS: 13 premieres Thursday, September 24, at 9pm ET/6pm PT on FX and Hulu. Three episodes will be released on September 24, followed by 3 episodes on October 1. After that, two episodes will release weekly until the season finale on October 29.

Here’s the official synopsis from FX: “Bringing together an all-star cast, many of whom are reprising fan favorite roles, American Horror Story: 13 continues to build on the anthology’s decades-long legacy that has been streamed more than 700 million hours across the globe and spawned a legion of dedicated fans. American Horror Story has redefined the genre with various installments featuring a creepy murder house, a coven of witches, a traveling freak show, a haunted hotel and the apocalypse itself. Which iconic horrors will return to haunt the hallowed halls of 13 and what new terrors await? Light your candles, draw your pentagrams and prepare for a supreme surprise.”
Who is in it?
AHS: 13 is the franchise’s biggest season ever so it’s no surprise that it features a star-studded cast. Returning to the AHS fold are Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, John Carroll Lynch, Mat Fraser, Mena Suavari, Zach Villa, Seth Gabel, Alex Consani, Avantika, Madelaine Petsch, John Waters, Joey Pollari and Paul Anthony Kelly.
How to watch American Horror Story: 13
American Horror Story: 13 premieres Thursday, September 24, at 9pm ET/PT on FX. New episodes will be available to stream the following day on Hulu. Fans outside of the US will be able to tune in on Disney+.
