The Paper Season 2: Trailer, Release Date of the Peacock Series

The staff of the Toledo Truth-Teller is back in The Paper season 2. Riding high on their big win at the Ohio Journalism Awards, the pressure is on to find new stories to keep the Midwestern newspaper afloat.

The new season kicks off Wednesday, September 9, on Peacock. All 10 episodes will be available to stream.

What is The Paper season 2 about?

Here’s the synopsis from Peacock: “The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in the Emmy Award-winning series The Office find a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it. In season two, after sweeping the Ohio Journalism Awards, Ned searches for a journalistic crusade, coming for a local private club and jeopardizing the paper, while he and Mare try to figure out their attraction, Esmeralda struggles to find her place, and the staff gradually mature as reporters.”

Returning for another season are Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina) as Ned, Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) as Esmeralda, Chelsea Frei (Poker Face) as Mare, Oscar Nuñez (The Office) as Oscar, Melvin Gregg (American Vandal) as Detrick, Gbemisola Ikumelo (A League Of Their Own) as Adelola, Alex Edelman (Just For Us) as Adam, Ramona Young (Santa Clarita Diet) as Nicole and Tim Key (The Witchfinder) as Ken.

This season’s guest stars include Jon Lovitz, Andy Richter, Lisa Gilroy, Matt Braunger, Toks Olagundoye and Phil Hendrie.

Greg Daniels, Michael Koman, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman all serve as executive directors.
