San Diego Comic-Con 2026 has arrived and pop culture shall reign supreme in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter from July 22-26. This year, some of the hottest panels are happening in Hall H, the largest venue at the SD Convention Center. If you’re looking to watch The Vampire Lestat, The Walking Dead: Dead City, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power or even the massive Marvel panel, we have some tips and trick for getting into Hall H.
When it comes to SDCC, there are so many unforgettable experiences and Hall H panels are always part of that. From major announcements to special appearances to breaking news, Hall H is the place to be.
Getting into Hall H is a battle unto itself. You’ll need a wristband to get in on the morning of your panel; wristbands are distributed the night before. Some people camp overnight to get into Hall H in the morning. As Hall H doesn’t clear out between panels, some people hoping to see an afternoon or evening panel will stay inside all day, meaning that even if you have a wristband, you’re not guaranteed a spot inside.
There are standby lines to get in, but they only move after all of the people with wristbands have gone inside.
What this means is that you will need to do some extensive planning to get into Hall H panels. If the panel you want to see is on Friday afternoon, there’s a good chance that lots of people will leave after The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power panel ends. It’s the first panel of the day, which means space will very likely open up for afternoon panels like Dead City and The Vampire Lestat.
Saturday, however, will be an entirely different beast. With the Marvel panel in the evening, fans will be camped out overnight to get inside, and once they’re there they won’t be leaving. It doesn’t help that there are lots of big panels that day, like the Apple TV presentation and Paramount’s huge Star Trek celebration. It’s unfortunate because people wanting to see the Apple TV and Star Trek panels might not get in because of the Marvel panel later in the day.
You can get some helpful information in the two videos above. The most important thing to note about getting into Hall H is that planning is crucial. The wristband line will be capped, so even if you’re in the line there’s no guarantee you’ll get a wristband. That means you need to get in line early. Once you have your wristband, you need to decide how early you want to get in line for Hall H. Both of these decisions will impact your time at the convention. Some people are perfectly happy to spend most of their time at SDCC waiting in lines, because ultimately seeing the Hall H panels is top priority.
The bottom line is that there are no guarantees. With Hall H, it’s a lot of luck and even more planning to make it happen.
