YAGA: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis and Everything We Know So Far

Described as a mystery thriller, YAGA is a Crave original series adapted from Kat Sandler’s play of the same name. Thanks to AMC+, fans can tune in wherever AMC+ is available to see the tale of the Baba Yaga witch in a whole new light.

Baba Yaga is a popular character in traditional Slavic folklore. She lives in the forest and is represented as an old woman who walks on chicken legs. Most importantly, though, is her representation of chaos and the unpredictable. Now the story is getting a fresh new twist in this modern retelling.

Fans have expressed excitement for the new series since it was announced, especially with the casting of Heated Rivalry’s Hudson Williams. The series also features Noah Reid, who is coming off of his role as Larry in AMC’s The Vampire Lestat. Crave and AMC+ hope to launch that excitement to a whole new level with a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where attendees will have a chance to see the cast (sans Williams) and watch a sneak peek preview.

What is YAGA about?

Here’s the synopsis of YAGA from AMC+: “Based on the play by Kat Sandler, YAGA reimagines the Slavic folk tale of the Baba Yaga witch as a contemporary mystery thriller. It follows Rapp (Noah Reid), a private investigator who arrives in a small coastal town to investigate the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery, Henry Park (Hudson Williams). Rapp finds himself at odds with an apprehensive local detective, Carson (Clark Backo); a charismatic university professor, Katherine (Carrie-Ann Moss) and a labyrinth of enigmatic suspects, secret lives and ancient magic. YAGA is an original series from Canadian streamer Crave, produced by Blink49 Studios and Front Street Pictures in association with Bell Media. YAGA is distributed internationally by Sphere Abacus, a Bell Media company.”

YAGA features an all-star cast including Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek, The Vampire Lestat), Clark Backo (Venom: The Last Dance, Letterkenny), Hudson Williams (Heated Rivalry) and Carrie-Anne Moss (Matrix Films, Memento)

How to watch YAGA

YAGA will air exclusively on AMC Plus. There’s no word yet if AMC plans to release the series on network television.

AMC Plus is a standalone streaming service that requires a paid subscription.
